Pawleys Island is one of the most beautiful places in South Carolina. With miles of pristine beaches and plenty of activities to choose from, there’s something for everyone!
Whether you’re looking to get some sun on the beach or take a dip in one of our many freshwater lakes, Pawleys Island has it all. With so much to do and see, here are five things you can’t miss when you come down to Pawleys Island.
Beautiful Beaches
The best thing about Pawleys Island is the beaches. With miles of pristine white sand and a beautiful, blue ocean, there’s no better place to relax on vacation!
And if you’re looking for other things to do on the beach, you can always play a game of volleyball or go jet skiing. If you want to hit the water, you can rent a kayak or take out one of our paddle boats. There are plenty of things you can do on the beach with your family.
The Pawleys Island Lighthouse
This historic lighthouse is a must-see when you come to pawleys island. You can take a tour of the lighthouse and learn all about its history, or just enjoy the breathtaking views from the top. Either way, this is one of my favorite places to visit.
Fishing And Crabbing On The Docks
Perhaps you would want to take advantage of our stunning waterfront views and go fishing with your friends? If you’re looking to catch some blue crabs for supper, our docks are the ideal location to put up your crab trap. Perhaps you’ll be fortunate enough to capture some speckled trout, black drum, redfish, or even an alligator gar while fishing.
Fishing contests are organized on the docks throughout the year for those who want to test their talents against other fisherman from all around the state if they are feeling competitive.
Kayak Or Jet Ski Tours
Kayak or jet ski tours are a must when visiting Pawleys Island. These tours offer you the chance to see one of the most scenic views of the island and get up close and personal with some of our amazing wildlife! You’ll be able to explore local waterways, see breathtaking beauty, and maybe even spot some dolphins.
Golfing At The Tara Palmetto Course
Golfing is one of the most popular pastimes on Pawleys Island, and it is also one of the most expensive. You’re guaranteed to have a good time since there are so many different courses to pick from. If you’re more interested in the natural environment, Tara Palmetto’s course is for you.
This links-style course, designed by Pete Dye and rated third on Golf Digest Magazine’s list of the Top 10 Courses You Can Play in South Carolina, will put your talents to the test as you navigate hard sand bunkers and swift-moving water obstacles.
Try the course at Ocean Woods Country Club if you want a more tranquil setting. Coastal Woods Golf Club, rated one of the greatest courses in South Carolina by Golf Digest, offers 18 holes with ocean vistas and lush fairways for a memorable golfing experience.
