Cycling caps are not just for cyclists. They can be worn by anyone who is looking to keep their head warm while riding a bike, or walking the dog in cold weather. There is even evidence that wearing a cycling cap may actually improve your performance on some types of exercise!

What to know?

The first thing you should know about cycling caps is that they are designed to keep your head warm. They protect the ears, forehead and back of neck from cold wind or rain. If this wasn’t reason enough to wear them, consider all the heat lost through an uncovered head!

This can be a major problem in colder climates where having your entire body covered may leave your head feeling exposed. Even if it’s not wintertime yet, many people still prefer wearing a hat when exercising outdoors for these reasons as well as protection against UV rays and hair damage caused by sweat (it traps moisture).

So whichever season you happen to live in do yourself a favor and put on one of these special garments before going out riding with friends or working up a sweat with a workout.

The second thing you should know about cycling caps is that they are designed to keep your head comfortable by allowing airflow. There’s nothing bad than being stuck in the heat and humidity of summer, sweating profusely while wearing a cap!

This problem can be solved easily through using materials like mesh behind the ears or on top of the forehead. If this isn’t enough for you though, consider how much more energy-efficient it would make you feel if there was wind flowing across your sweaty brow during an activity such as running or biking (or even walking!)

In fact studies have shown that those who wear hats when exercising tend to sweat less and perform better overall due to improved aerodynamics alone! So again do yourself a favor and put on one of these special garments before going out riding with friends or working up a sweat with a workout.

The last thing you should know about cycling caps is that they are designed to protect your face from the wind, sun and rain! The main reason for this is because it will keep your hair dryer if caught in bad weather conditions while exercising outdoors.

Chances are most people don’t want their good hairdo ruined by getting stuck outside during an unexpected downpour so therefore investing in such a garment would be wise especially if you live somewhere where the mercury tends to drop unexpectedly at any time of year (like say Canada).

However there’s another benefit briefly mentioned above which has nothing to do with keeping your locks well groomed – it is the physical appearance of a cycling cap!

Having some sort of headgear to cover your scalp has been known for centuries as an excellent way to improve one’s self-confidence and overall self-image. When you think that our ancestors lived in much colder climates than we do today so wearing something on their heads was not only practical but also helped keep them warm during harsh winters (and even hot summers!).
